blooom – Web Application

At blooom, a financial technology startup managing users’ 401k accounts, designs had to feel approachable and professional to ensure that users did not feel overwhelmed and were confident their data was secure. I designed a high-fidelity prototype for the company’s web app focused on making complex tasks feel simple and trustworthy.

I researched SaaS and financial platforms to model best practices, prioritizing clarity through bite-sized steps, reduced visual clutter, and familiar UI conventions. Using Sketch and InVision, I prototyped user flows that doubled as tools for testing and refinement, resulting in a polished, user-centered design that balanced simplicity with credibility.

In-App Video Message

blooom’s CEO wanted to be able to speak directly to users as they interacted with the product, so I created a video message that was embedded directly in the app. To align with the brand’s clean aesthetic, I used high-key lighting against a white backdrop, creating a polished and on-brand presentation.

I filmed the CEO delivering his message, then edited the footage in Adobe Premiere and added text and motion graphics in After Effects. The result was a moment of sincere encouragement from the business owner, offering reassurance and a personal touch that reassured users during a key stage of the user journey.
